Design

Eirene and the very compact Drive Unit Metis supports the Melpomene type of CerPhragm Single-Use-Pump.

Melpomene SUP is integrated with the Continuous-Perfusion-Single-Use-Bioreactor (CP-SUB's) for high cell density cultivation. The CellTank CP-SUB integrate one of the Melpomene diaphragm Single-Use-Pump's (SUP). Eirene control accurately the pumped volume and the velocity of the broth passing through the CP-SUB scaffold.

Driving Melpomene SUP's requires pressure above and below atmospheric pressure (vacuum). The SUP drive gas pressure is continuously adjusted via a set of proportional valves inside Eirene. Intelligent microprocessor with advanced PID algorithms get information from Laser and pressure sensor's.

Specification

When Eirene is connected to gas supply from both a pressure and vacuum source with sufficient capacity, then the spec is:

  • Drive of one Melpomene SUP
  • Pumped volume (Cardiac Output, CO) according to stroke length and cell size
  • Stroke length, %: 10 – 100 in 10% jumps
  • Eirene inform continuously about velocity, m/sec: 0,1 – 15
  • Eirene can of course be driven by in lab installed pneumatic air and vacuum.

Communication

  • Internal 5” touch sensitive TFT display or external to PADs or smartPhones via Wi-Fi for programming and info from the built-in webserver
  • USB port for USB adapter/Wi-Fi connection and software upgrades
  • RJ45 for IP/TCP via LAN and ModBus, OPC communication with PCS
  • 24 VDC inlet via one Buccaneer 3 pole connector
